Bethanee has been in the fitness industry for over 15 years, but her roots as a lifelong athlete started much earlier. Growing up, she was a multi-sport athlete competing in basketball, track, tennis, cheer, soccer, and fastpitch softball. That foundation in athletics eventually led her into the fitness industry, where she began by teaching group fitness—kickboxing, cycling, boot camps, and more—while also working as a personal trainer. From there, she moved into gym management and eventually opened her own gym, Elevate Strength & Conditioning, in June of 2020.
Elevate began in the midst of the pandemic as an outdoor and online-only gym, born out of the closure of a gym she formerly managed (and loved deeply). She was able to purchase the membership list and equipment, and begin again.
For the first six months, Bethanee built and maintained a membership base through parking lot workouts, virtual classes, and a whole lot of creativity. By October of 2020, she was able to open Elevate’s first physical location on Bainbridge Island.
Over the years, Bethanee has had the privilege of working with thousands of people: from everyday athletes looking to move better, to D1 hopefuls, to competitive runners, cyclists, climbers, and skiers. She has also trained individuals navigating Parkinson’s, MS, hearing impairments, and special needs, proving that strength and movement are for everyone. For the past 11 years, she has built and led the strength and conditioning program for the local high school crew team, helping to shape athletes and community culture on Bainbridge Island.
As an adult, fitness has empowered Bethanee to accomplish things she never thought possible—including completing two Ironmans, multiple half marathons and 25Ks, triathlons, and learning to move through life with confidence. Many of these experiences have been shared alongside Elevate members and coaches, a true reflection of the community she has built.
One of the most important reasons Bethanee wanted to open a gym was to share that fitness empowers everyone. She believes the real magic of training is in helping people discover their own power—embracing the empowerment and confidence that comes from taking care of yourself, doing hard things, and leaning into the work. She is deeply motivated by the belief that there is no ceiling to fitness as we age—there is always room to grow, improve, and pursue new goals. At Elevate, the ultimate aim is longevity: building strength and resilience that lasts a lifetime.
Her greatest hope and goal is to create an inclusive space where all people feel welcome—regardless of age, background, ability, or experience. Bethanee loves coaching humans of all shapes and sizes, and believes that no matter your starting point or your goal, you belong at Elevate.
